Phoenix Sintered Metals, Inc. stepped it up a notch today with the addition of the largest molding press to ever be utilized in the history of Brockway’s powdered metal ventures.  Responding to requests from their key customers, Phoenix added an 825 ton Cincinnati press to their array of large presses.  Phoenix will be following this with the addition of a large electric sintering furnace next week that will be automated to the press.  According to Steve Leuschel, Phoenix Sintered Metal’s Chief Operating Office and General Manager, “We are able to offer outstanding service to our customers because of the tremendous commitment we have from our employees, our management team and our owners here in Brockway;  the Varischetti family.  Our President, Peter Varischetti and his family are devoted to the success of Phoenix and to the success of the entire community.  This new equipment will increase our capabilities so we can continue to create new jobs for our area.”

Blaine Stebick, Phoenix’s Vice President of Engineering said:  “A machine of this type, a Cincinnati Rigid Reflex, has been the work horse of the PM industry for decades and it is very exciting to have its dependability and production capability as part of our equipment base.”

Phoenix Sintered Metals, Inc. is privately held by Varischetti & Sons, Inc. and is currently obtaining recognition as a global leader in the Powdered Metal Industry.  Phoenix is a consolidation of assets and talent from four local manufacturing plants combined into one central location in Brockway, PA.  Their customer base is extremely diversified and services a wide range of markets including Outdoor Power Equipment, Sporting Goods, Automotive, Hydraulic Fluid & Power, Construction and Food Service, to name a few.
